Frances Martin
Frances Martin grew up in Monterey County, California, and received classical training from pianist Lynwood Bronson of Carmel, California. She attended Pacific Music Camp in Stockton, California for two summers, studying with Frank Wiens, and performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto #3 with the music camp orchestra. As a high school sophomore, Frances began studies with Hans Boepple of Santa Clara University. She also was accepted to the summer program at Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, studying with Paul Schenly. Frances earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Santa Clara University. As a continuing student, Frances has taken many courses at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, California, playing both piano and keyboards in a myriad of ensembles, including Cuban, Brazilian, straight-ahead, and fusion. She maintains a private studio in Fremont, California, where she is a private teacher to students of all ages and levels. Her students are consistently selected to perform at MTAC Certificate of Merit Branch Honors Recitals, MTAC State Convention Recitals, and CAPMT Festival Recitals.
